HEIC to JPG Converter

Your iPhone saves photos as HEIC — great for storage, terrible for compatibility. Drop them here to get universally accepted JPGs in seconds, decoded right in your browser. Batch-convert a whole shoot, keep control of the quality, and never upload private photos anywhere.

Drop your heic to jpg files here or click to browse

You can also paste from the clipboard (Ctrl+V)

90% keeps iPhone photos visually identical.

🔒 100% private: your files are processed by your own browser and never leave your device.

How it works

  1. Drop your .heic or .heif files onto the box (AirDrop them to your computer first if you like).
  2. Pick a JPG quality — 90% keeps iPhone photos looking exactly as shot.
  3. Press Convert. The HEIC decoder (a small library loaded on demand) runs locally.
  4. Download your JPGs — one click per file, or all at once.

Features

True iPhone photo support

Decodes real HEIC/HEIF files, including 12-bit iPhone photos and HDR variants mapped to standard color.

Batch your shoots

A whole burst or vacation folder converts in one run, still with zero uploads.

Quality slider

90% is visually identical for photos; lower it for lighter email attachments.

Privacy for personal photos

Decoding is 100% local — your camera roll never touches a server.

Works on any device

Android and Windows can read iPhone HEICs too — no Apple hardware needed.

Supported formats. Accepts .heic and .heif (Apple photos, and HEIF from other cameras). Outputs .jpg. EXIF orientation is applied during decode.

Common use cases

Limitations (honest ones)

HEIC decoding uses a WASM-based library (~1.3 MB) loaded once per session — the first conversion has a short extra delay. Very exotic HEIC variants (multi-image parity files, certain HDR profiles) may fail; convert those on the originating device. JPG flattens transparency (rare in photos).

Frequently asked questions

Why are iPhone photos HEIC?

Apple adopted HEIF/HEIC in 2017 because it halves storage versus JPG at equal quality. Compatibility outside the Apple ecosystem lagged, hence converters like this one.

Are my private photos uploaded?

No. The decoder runs in your browser via WebAssembly. Nothing is transmitted — this matters for personal photos, and it is why the tool also works offline.

Does converting lose quality?

Minimally: HEIC and JPG are both lossy, but at quality 90+ the difference is invisible on photos. Keep HEIC masters for re-edits if storage allows.

Can I convert HEIC on Android or Windows?

Yes — that is the point. The tool runs in any modern browser, so you can decode iPhone photos anywhere, no software install.
