HEIC to PNG Converter

Decode iPhone HEIC photos into PNG files that any editor, viewer or workflow accepts. PNG is lossless, so the pixels decoded from your HEIC are preserved exactly — ideal before retouching. Everything happens locally in your browser, in batches, with complete privacy.

Drop your heic to png files here or click to browse

You can also paste from the clipboard (Ctrl+V)

PNG output is always lossless.

🔒 100% private: your files are processed by your own browser and never leave your device.

How it works

  1. Drop your .heic/.heif files onto the box (or click / paste).
  2. Nothing to configure — PNG output is lossless.
  3. Press Convert. The HEIC decoder loads on demand and runs on your device.
  4. Download the PNGs, one by one or all together.

Features

Lossless handoff to editors

PNG keeps every decoded pixel intact for Photoshop, GIMP or Figma.

Batch shoots

Convert entire bursts, Live Photo stills and vacation folders in one pass.

Local decode, private photos

Personal images are processed on your device only — no cloud round-trip.

Cross-platform

Decode iPhone photos on Android, Windows or Linux — no Apple ecosystem required.

Orientation handled

EXIF rotation flags are applied so photos come out upright.

Supported formats. Accepts .heic/.heif. Outputs .png (8-bit RGB). HDR tone mapping follows your browser's decode pipeline.

Common use cases

Limitations (honest ones)

PNG files from photos are large — often 3–6× the HEIC original — because PNG targets fidelity, not compactness. The ~1.3 MB decoder library loads once per session (slight first-use delay). Rare multi-image or depth-map HEIC variants are not supported.

Frequently asked questions

PNG or JPG from HEIC?

PNG for editing pipelines and maximum fidelity; JPG (at 90%) for sharing and uploads where size matters. Both tools run with the same privacy model.

Why is the PNG bigger than my HEIC?

HEIC is a highly efficient lossy camera format; PNG stores the decoded pixels losslessly. Size inflation is the expected cost of losslessness.

Do Live Photos or bursts work?

The still image (key photo) of each HEIC converts normally. Live Photo video components are not part of the image file.

Is anything sent to a server?

Never. The decoder is WebAssembly running locally; you can go offline after the page loads and keep converting.
