WebP to JPG Converter

Got WebP files that some app, CMS or marketplace refuses? Convert them to universally accepted JPG right in your browser. You keep control of the quality, transparent areas become white, and batches are welcome. As with every CompressoPanda tool, your files never leave your device.

You can also paste from the clipboard (Ctrl+V)

90% is the safe default for compatibility jobs.

🔒 100% private: your files are processed by your own browser and never leave your device.

How it works

  1. Drop your .webp files onto the box (or click / paste).
  2. Choose the JPG quality — 90% preserves the look of most WebP sources.
  3. Press Convert. Decoding and re-encoding happen locally.
  4. Download your JPGs, one by one or all together.

Features

Universal compatibility

JPG opens everywhere: every CMS, marketplace, office suite and messaging app.

Quality slider

From 50% (tiny) to 100% (near-transparent), with per-file size feedback.

White flatten for alpha

WebP images with transparency are composited over white automatically.

Batch conversion

Empty a whole folder of WebP files in one run.

Zero uploads

Conversion is pure JavaScript on your device — safe for private or client images.

Supported formats. Accepts .webp (lossy and lossless, with or without alpha). Outputs .jpg.

Common use cases

Limitations (honest ones)

JPG cannot store transparency, so alpha is flattened to white. Re-encoding lossy WebP to lossy JPG adds minor generational artifacts — at quality 90+ they are imperceptible for photos. If you need to keep transparency, convert to PNG instead.

Frequently asked questions

Why do some websites only accept JPG?

Older upload pipelines validate extensions rather than capabilities. JPG is the lowest common denominator, guaranteed to pass.

Does converting WebP to JPG reduce quality?

Slightly — it is a lossy-to-lossy re-encode. At 90%+ quality the difference is invisible on photos; at low settings artifacts appear faster because the source is already compressed.

Can I keep transparency?

Not in JPG. Use our WebP to PNG converter for alpha-preserving output.

Is WebP worse than JPG?

No — WebP is technically superior (smaller at equal quality). Converting is about compatibility, not quality.
